Privacy Statement

Hong Kong Scrabble Players Association (hereinafter "HKSPA") is committed to protect personal data of all players. Here is a brief outline regarding the use of personal data in this event management system.
  1. How do we collect your personal data? HKSPA collects your personal information when you enroll a tournament organised by the Association. If the tournament is organised by other organisers, they collect your personal information when you apply to play in the tournament. They will then share the information collected if they require HKSPA to assist them in organising the tournament, or if the tournament is HKSPA-rated or recognized, HKSPA will keep your game result as part of its Ratings Database indefinitely.
  2. How do we use your personal data? To report tournament results, we will display your Displayed Name (at your own choice but you must follow the criteria), Team (if this is a team tournament), Scores, Opponents, Ratings (whether HKSPA or WESPA is at the sole discretion of the organiser), and other information that provides other players and general public a better understanding of the tournament. It is voluntary for you to provide personal information. However, if you do not provide adequate information to the organiser, they may not be able to process with your application to play in the tournament nor they may be unable to run the tournament.
    Apart from those information shown on the webpage, HKSPA may keep other personal data strictly for tournament and its related use only.
    Moreover, HKSPA may use services provided by third parties (for example, Google) so that we can provide better services to the players (for example, providing push notification features to players). We will minimize the information passed to third parties.
  3. Request to correct personal data. If you found that your personal information shown on the website is incorrect -
    • For tournament results: Please contact the Tournament Director of the tournament.
    • For other problems: Please contact the Tournaments and Ratings Officer of HKSPA.
